Bioactive Terrariums for Adults

Our inner city plant haven is the perfect place to relax and be present in the moment. Whether it's the end of a long week (or right in the middle!), making terrariums can be such a grounding experience. You will learn all about terrariums, from the layers used to create them, to the plants that thrive in them. We will guide you through each step in designing and creating your own unique miniature world. And along the way, you will learn about the science behind terrariums and why we call them tiny bioactive ecosystems!

What is a bioactive terrarium? A bioactive terrarium contains more than just plants. We add little insects, called springtails, that help break down and remove waste (decaying leaves and mould) from the terrarium, creating a healthier ecosystem. Neat isn’t it! This is what occurs in nature (but on a much smaller scale!). Optional to add insects.
